brick lane and camden town

This weekend was the weekend of the markets. Saturday I made it to Brick Lane, an area famous for its Indian food and vintage shopping. The Indian food was great! I got a complete meal for £4.50! But because its now famously an area for vintage shopping, the vintage shops are expensive. I couldn't find a single thing that cost less than it would if it was new. It was gorgeous though, very grunge turned hipster. Sadly I left my camera at home that day.

Sunday a big bunch of us headed to Camden Market. Another famous market, for its grunge, punk, Doc Marten-esque feel. It was great to get out of my day-to-day Kensington and Westminster surroundings and get out into other parts of the city. I managed to get a sweater, some Christmas gifts and some decent £3 Thai food. I think I'll come back to Camden Town.

The girls who had been to the market before (it was my first time) took us to this great coffee shop where they make everything from scratch right in front of you and then taste your personal cup of coffee (from a different glass) to make sure it is acceptably amazing. The mocha coffee had glitter in it!
