christmas party

My friend Mary decided to host a Christmas party in the communal kitchen. Two rules: bring some food to share, and you must wear red and/or green to be let in. I brought apples and grapes (I figured we've all been eating out of our pantry stock this week before we head home and fresh fruit would be a welcome treat). Kelly brought cream puffs and Bailey's, Em brought crackers and cheeses, Mary brought a pear tart, Elena brought chocolate truffles, Christina brought Pringles (red and green cans), Carla brought more cheese, Lauryn brought Christmas candy medley -- and we managed to eat it all, while listening to Christmas music of course.

How to Make Festive Hot Chocolate (on a student's budget)

STEP ONE: add chocolate powder to cups, boil water

STEP TWO: add hot water and Bailey's :) then mix

STEP THREE: add whipped cream and sprinkles ("candy balls" in British)

After we had all eaten much more than we were comfortable with, Mary sat us all down and shared her "surprise." She made awards for everyone, and guess what I got? "If Looks Could Kill..." Close friends and fam will know how true this is. I guess these girls have gotten to really know me!

Happy almost-Christmas everybody!
